About the Author
Gary Cook is Professor Emeritus of Music in the School of Music at the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he founded the Percussion Studies program in 1975 and was Director of Percussion until retiring in 2008. He currently is Artist in Residence at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where he teaches graduate seminars in percussion.

Good book for my percussion class and a good book to have as an educator. I lost mine and will be ordering another.

Essential book for percussionists

This book is widely regarded to be the industry standard for percussion. The DVD's are great, I only wish they contained more demonstrations. You can learn almost anything about percussion with this book, and if you are serious about playing or composing (or teaching), pick it up.
